About Jeff Waddell
A singer-songwriter and slide guitarist, Jeff Waddell (JW) combines influences from different genres in his music. Originally from Decatur, Illinois. Waddell was raised on traditional country music within a musical family that performed country, bluegrass, and country rock. He was a founding member of Borderline, a top rock act that dominated the Central Illinois music scene. Borderline had several of Waddell's songs on rotation on Midwest radio. Waddell has performed nationally, sharing the stage with many well-known classic rock and country artists. His single "I'm Just the Opening Act", has charted on several national Billboard-type music platforms, including Reverbnation. His songs currently sit at number #1 for over 14 weeks on the Portland & Pacific Northwest Charts for the Country music genre.
His latest release, "Macon County", named after the county in which he was raised in Decatur, Illinois, covers his traditional country music roots, Americana & Bluegrass blended with his love of the Midwest "power pop" sound. JW & The Brotherhood of Pain is a music project born out of the Covid pandemic, made up of studio session "rats" and top performers in their craft. Waddell's songs "OPENING Act" and "Ghost of the Sangamon River", have elevated him to rank #1 in the Pacific Northwest for the Country & Southern Rock genre. He can be seen performing slide guitar for bands such as Matt Beltran Band, North City Juke and The Cellar Rats. These bands are well-known acts based in Portland, Oregon.
