About Jeff Waddell
Hailing from the farm fields of Central illinois where Jeff often mused that "you could watch yoru dog run away from my home for three day, its so damn flat where i come from", Jeff Waddell is a talented singer, songwriter, and slide guitarist with a unique style influenced by traditional country music, rock, and bluegrass roots. With family farming roots roots in the boothill of Missouri and Hugo Oklahoma, his formulative years was in Decatur, Illinois which is known for its farms and soy bean processing industry as well as GREAT musicians. After performing at the road houses and outdoor venues, Jeff found success in songwriting while in the band he co founded called Borderline and scored several songs that were on heavy rotation on the regional radio stations. This gave him the opportunity to tour and break away from that "one horse town" and pursue music ina move to Florida where he was able to move his band to join him. The band qucjkly landed residency shows at Disney World and many othr properties in Orlando and the East coast. Sharing the stage with Bruce Honrsby,Ted Nugent, Tommy TuTone, Dickey Betts, Warren Haynes, Blackfoot, Cheap Trick, REO Speedwagon, Greh Khin, The Romantics, Geroge Benson, Sly Stone, Ratt, as well as country artiost Clint Black, Joe Diffie, Litte Jimmie Dickens, Roger Miller and even the great Pavarroti. Jeff worked with many others. With his band called 'Thoze Guys", the mebers included guitar virtuos Greg Stillweel, Drummer Bruce BArnes and Bassist Joh Phegly whom all relocated to Florida after Jeff was successful in booking shows and secured a manager. Thoze Guy because one of the hottest players ion the market with a comedic Second City edge to them, which grew crowds to standing room only and sold out venues. Jeff later relocated tp the West Coast,and was able to pull mebmbers of the band with him and settled in Portland Oregon to write and record. They recorded a critically accliamed CD which foudn then exploring country rock and more of a Americana flair, but will Midwest Power Pop influecnes . After the loss of their dear friend Greg Stilwell, Jeff and Bruce decided tro continue to perform and again, blend comedy with rock music while slioping in traditional contry to the crowds delight. The band was renamed Les Cellar Rats and draw great corwd today.
Jeffls latest songwroting project is dedicated to his roots and home town of Decatur witah release called "Macon County" in which Decatur resides in. JW & eeh Brotherhood of Pain Sessions is rleasing "Pride of the Prarie" which consist of songs of life back in that one horse town of Decatur
his life to performing and crerating creating an Americana blend of roots county rock and all generes of captivating music. As a founding member of Borderline, he has toured nationally and shared the stage with many legendary artists in classic rock and country. Jeff's single 'I'm Just The Opening Act' has achieved #1 Chart Rankings on several national and intrernational music forums and continues to wriet and reoord new music.
